How catering with RASA works
Most of the questions people ask a caterer are really one question: what will actually happen on the day? Here is the sequence, and what we need from you at each point.
- You tell us about the event. The form takes a minute. Your name and WhatsApp number are the only things we need to start.
- We talk it through. The occasion, the guest count, the venue, the dishes your family expects, and what your guests can and can’t eat.
- We write your proposal. The stations, the menu, how it will be served, and a per-plate figure, with GST, transport and crockery shown as separate lines.
- We change it until it’s right. Menus move. Counters get added and dropped. Nothing is fixed until you say it is.
- You confirm. The proposal you agreed to is what we cook.
- Before the day. We go through the venue with you: when we can get in, where the counters stand, power and water, the time service starts, the time it finishes, and the final guest count.
- On the day. We set up, run the counters through the service, and clear our equipment out of your venue.
Three ways your food can be served
- Stations and buffet. Counters cooking to order, with a buffet carrying the courses that are better made in batch. This is what most RASA events look like.
- Small plates carried to guests. Bites brought round while people stand and talk, usually before dinner. Pending confirmation.
- Plated courses. Courses brought to the table in sequence, for a seated dinner. Pending confirmation.
What we’ll ask about your event and your venue
- About the event: the date and the function types · the service window for each · how many guests, and when that number will be firm · how many children · the mood you want, whether that’s people standing and mingling or a seated meal.
- About the venue: its name and area in Bengaluru · whether it’s a home, an apartment clubhouse, a banquet hall, a lawn or farmhouse, or an office · whether outside caterers are allowed, and any charge the venue makes · the time we can get in, and the time service must finish.
- About the space: where the counters can stand and how guests will move between them · a back area for preparation · power points near the counters · water · cover if you’re outdoors · vehicle access, unloading and a service lift.
- About the food: the stations and collections you like · the dishes your family expects · dietary needs among your guests · anything you don’t want on the menu.
- About the money: your budget, per plate or in total, if you have one · your crockery preference, which is charged separately.
What you get in writing
The station line-up and the menu for each function · how it will be served · the per-plate figure and the separate lines for GST, transport and crockery · the service times we’ve agreed · what we need from the venue. If something changes later, the proposal changes, and you see it before it’s final.
Tell us about your event
Your name and WhatsApp number are enough to start. Everything else helps us shape the stations and the menu.
Or fill in the longer form, with stations, dates and guest numbers
Your enquiry is with us.
We have your name and WhatsApp number, and what you’ve told us about your event.
Next: we’ll message you on WhatsApp to talk through the date, the guest count and the stations you’re drawn to. After that we write your proposal: the station line-up, the menu, the service plan and a per-plate figure, with GST, transport and crockery as separate lines.
Nothing is booked until you say so.
